Nehal Gandhi, MD

About Dr. Gandhi

Nehal Gandhi, M.D., originally grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended the University of California, San Diego, where she received her Bachelor of Science in General Biology with Provost’s Honors. She continued her journey through medicine by earning her Doctor of Medicine degree at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Gandhi completed the Family Medicine Residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center while taking on the role of Associate Chief Resident in her final year. After her training, she stayed on as faculty with the Arrowhead Family Medical Group.

Dr. Gandhi is a strong advocate for “full-scope” primary care – practicing preventative medicine, hospital medicine, and minor procedures both in clinic and inpatient. She truly values the relationships she is able to build and maintain with each of her patients.

Research has played a large role in her journey. She was heavily involved in studies focusing on pelvic floor disorders at the University of California, San Diego while obtaining her bachelor’s degree. She later developed and validated a liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method to analyze pharmacokinetic profiles of an anti-anxiety and pain medication. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she focused on analyzing the association between ABO blood groups and respiratory failure and mortality in patients admitted with COVID-19.

Dr. Gandhi loves spending her free time outdoors with her husband and two dogs, baking, and watching sports.
