Peter Wilton, MD

About Dr. Wilton

Dr. Wilton is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery. He is a graduate of the Joseph H. Boyes Hand Fellowship at USC. Dr. Wilton gained additional expertise in microvascular and peripheral nerve problems and treating complex traumatic injuries while working at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he had the opportunity to work alongside the surgeons and staff of Arrowhead Orthopaedics.

Dr. Wilton understands that surgery is one of many potential treatment options to alleviate pain and restore function. He believes in a shared-decision making process, helping the patients understand the evidence about the problem, and ultimately creating an individualized plan that is best for them. He is a champion of “Wide Awake” hand surgery, which eliminates the risks associated with general anesthesia, and allows for an open conversation with the patient in real-time.

Dr. Wilton is Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, California Orthopaedic Association, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
