National Health Care Volunteer Week Team Photo 04-14-21-0356The Volunteer Management Department is responsible for assisting in the mission and work of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) by developing and maintaining a team of volunteers to provide support and assistance in serving the needs of the patients, families, visitors and the staff.

Volunteers have been a great force behind the Medical Center since the early 1900’s. Volunteers from the community were the ones who enabled the hospital to be self-sufficient, by canning and preserving fruits and vegetables grown on the land surrounding the grounds of the hospital.

Volunteers at ARMC are a diverse group of dedicated individuals who add compassion to patient care and service that adds to but does not replace that of paid staff. Our volunteers enhance the abilities of staff in providing the best quality care possible for our patients.

Assigned service areas for volunteers are determined by the individual’s skills and interest as well as the needs of our patients. Volunteer positions have been established in areas where there is interaction with the patients and areas where there is minimal patient interaction. Volunteers have served in the following areas:

  • Emergency Department
  • Visitor Greeting
  • Messenger/Escort
  • Office Assistant
  • Respiratory Care
  • Medical Imaging

We want your volunteer experience to be a successful one. If you choose to volunteer at ARMC, we will make every effort to ensure your time spent here will be a rewarding experience.

Benefits to Volunteering at ARMC:
Life-changing events happen every day at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. This includes becoming a volunteer. As a volunteer at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center you'll help to shape an important chapter in someone's life. You'll be providing comfort, assistance and hope — just by being there.

Magic happens when you volunteer. By giving to others through volunteering, you connect with your community, create friendships and bring support and meaning into your life. It's why on any given day you will see many of our amazing volunteers helping patients and assisting staff. If this is something you think you would like to do, we would love to have you.

We request our volunteers to commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service, be available for one (1) four hour shift per week, be at least 14 ½ years old and meet the same professional standards as our hospital team.
