Volunteers

National Health Care Volunteer Week Team Photo 04-14-21-0356The Volunteer Management Department is responsible for assisting in the mission and work of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) by developing and maintaining a team of volunteers to provide support and assistance in serving the needs of the patients, families, visitors and the staff.

Volunteers have been a great force behind the Medical Center since the early 1900’s. Volunteers from the community were the ones who enabled the hospital to be self-sufficient, by canning and preserving fruits and vegetables grown on the land surrounding the grounds of the hospital.

Volunteers at ARMC are a diverse group of dedicated individuals who add compassion to patient care and service that adds to but does not replace that of paid staff. Our volunteers enhance the abilities of staff in providing the best quality care possible for our patients.

Assigned service areas for volunteers are determined by the individual’s skills and interest as well as the needs of our patients. Volunteer positions have been established in areas where there is interaction with the patients and areas where there is minimal patient interaction. Volunteers have served in the following areas:

  • Emergency Department
  • Visitor Greeting
  • Messenger/Escort
  • Office Assistant
  • Respiratory Care
  • Medical Imaging

We want your volunteer experience to be a successful one. If you choose to volunteer at ARMC, we will make every effort to ensure your time spent here will be a rewarding experience.
