Visiting Student Learning Opportunities
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so
be sure to apply early for the best chance of securing your desired rotation.
Please note that it can take up to 28 days to receive a response. A non-refundable
administration fee will be charged for each accepted rotation. This fee
is required to confirm your placement and cover administrative costs associated
with the rotation.
- For the 2025 - 2026 academic school year, all VSLO students approved will
receive instructions and a link to apply via Clinician Nexus.
- The AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) program
enables medical students to pursue short-term learning opportunities in
locations away from their Home institutions. Program participants at ARMC
are medical students from institutions in the U.S.

All communications regarding scheduling must be sent to the
medstudents@armc.sbcounty.gov email account. GME staff members will not respond to direct email communications.
Inquiries sent directly to rotation services will not be considered.

Things to remember:
- Cancellations must be done 30 days prior to start of rotation
- You must complete ALL assigned Healthstream modules prior to start of rotation
to receive computer access and EPIC
- You must turn in badge at the end of each rotation to GME Office (please
sign out on clipboard and drop badge in the badge return box).
- GME Office hours are 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Closed all major holidays.
Instructions for the 2025 - 2026 academic school year:
Students are required to apply for ARMC rotations via Clinician Nexus.
To begin the application process, students must first set up a Clinician
Nexus account. If you do not have a Clinician Nexus account, please
click here and follow the instructions to create your account.
Students may start applying through Clinician Nexus annually:

Medical Student Badge Pickup – GME Office
Medical students can pick up their badge at the GME Office either:

Friday before the start of their rotation

Monday, the first day of their rotation
To help in eliminating traffic in GME and surrounding offices, students
are not permitted to visit the GME Office for scheduling or access issues.
